Further Education Learning Support
We offer a range of services to support you across alll areas of student life, with specialist support available for students with disabilities.
- An individual study plan tailored just for you.
- A dedicated progress coach who can support you personally and academically to ensure you get the best out of your time at college.
- Regular one-to-one support from course tutors with feedback to help you improve your work and achieve better grades.
- Learning support for specific disabilities including autism, sensory impairment, physical disabilities, mental health issues and more.
- A well-equipped learning resource centre with experts who can help you find the information you need to support your coursework.
- Exam access arrangements to support students who are unable to sit exams under usual exam conditions.
If you have indicated on your application form that you will need study support of any kind our Learning Support Team will be in contact with you to discuss the support we are able to provide.

Help with specific disabilities
At B&FC we offer a comprehensive range of support services for students with disabilities including:
Autism
We have a specialist team who can provide advice, information, support and guidance if you have an Autism Spectrum Disorder, enabling you to navigate your studies and life at College more easily.
Physical Disabilities
We aim to provide an inclusive environment with accessible campuses, classrooms that can be adapted for a wide range of physical disabilities and a team to help you overcome any barriers to learning.
Sensory Loss
Our sensory specialist team is here to help you if you have any issues with hearing impairment, sight loss or both. We are able to provide assistive technologies, one-to-one support and a range of additional services to ensure you can actively participate in your course and prepare for a future career.
Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD)
If you have a specific learning difficulty such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia or Dyscalculia, the College can give you all the support you need to facilitate your learning and help make your ambitions and aspirations a reality.
Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
If you have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and need more comprehensive support, we can provide that for you. Before you start at College we will work with your school, your parents or guardians, and with the Local Authority to ensure you get the best possible support from B&FC.
