ESOL stands for English for Speakers of Other Languages.
We offer ESOL classes at all levels, so you can be sure to find one that matches your experience of the English language.
Why is studying ESOL important to me?
Our ESOL course will provide you with the essential language skills that you will need to successfully communicate in English.
You will learn about:
- speaking and listening
- reading and writing
- grammar and punctuation
All of this will help you develop a better understanding of the English language.
You will also be able to fully interact with people in your everyday life, whilst also creating more opportunities for your future in the UK, through also learning about
- employability
- computer skills
- citizenship skills and British values
We offer ESOL courses to:
- Young people aged between 15 and 18 - at our Gateway Campus
- Adult students aged 19 and over - at our Seasiders Learning Centre.
Which ESOL courses are available?
ESOL courses are available across five levels:
- Beginner / Entry 1 (A1)
- Entry 2 (A2)
- Entry 3 (B1)
- Level 1
- Level 2
We also offer additional preparation courses to help you access work or study, or make visa and immigration applications:
- Preparation for IELTS for work and study in the UK
- Preparation for IELTS for visa and immigration
- Preparation for the Life in the UK Test
Which ESOL course is right for me?
Before you start your ESOL course with B&FC, we will invite you to an assessment session to determine your level of English and decide which course is right for you.
Before you can start your course, we will need check your eligibility to study in the UK.
