Course Overview
This level will suit you if you have existing skills and knowledge in vehicle accident repair paint refinishing and/or have completed the Level 2 Vehicle Accident Repair paint qualification. You may be looking to become fully skilled in all aspects of vehicle body refinishing and certified to inspection standards. You may wish to gain more responsibility by supervising others or interested in running your own business.
Entry Requirements
To enrol to the Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Accident Repair Paint course, you must have completed Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Accident Repair Paint course or have the required knowledge and experience of the subject through having been employed in the industry conducting vehicle body refinishing.
Employers are looking to attract applicants who have a keen interest in the repair of accident damaged vehicles. Applicants must demonstrate a “can do" attitude and have at least basic numeracy and literacy skills on which the Apprenticeship will build.
You will be invited to attend an interview with the related curriculum area to give advice and guidance about the job role and qualification. You will be required to undertake initial assessments in Maths and English.
To be an apprentice you need to be working a minimum of 30 hours per week in the related occupation of your chosen apprenticeship and be at least 16 years old. Our Skills Coaches and Careers team can support you with this and we often have a good selection of employers looking to recruit an apprentice.
Assessment Methods
Teaching and Learning Methods
The Advanced Apprenticeship is 24 months in duration, dependant on previous experience and achievement. The course is a mixture of work based evidence collection, online tests and written question and answer papers.
All evidence is collected and stored on an e-portfolio to allow you to work at your own pace. You will be assessed in the workplace by your subject specialist Skills Coach. You will be required to complete 20% off the job training during your time on programme.

All staff involved in the delivery of apprenticeships within the College are approved to train and support the students in the subjects and modules they deliver. The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified, with relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
