Course Overview

The CIPD Intermediate Diploma in Human Resource Management develops the key skills required to operate effectively within HR and personnel. The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is regarded as the leading professional body in this field, with CIPD membership and qualifications widely acknowledged to enhance career development. If you are new to, or aspiring to, a career in HR, or if you are a manager or business owner wanting to develop your HR skills, this course is for you. The course is delivered over one day a week, allowing you to balance study with work and other commitments.

Teaching and Learning Methods

Learning and teaching strategies are designed to be informal and comprise interactive lectures, seminar sessions, and individual and group workshops.

We also make use of Moodle (our virtual learning environment) to provide lecture notes, and supplementary video, audio and text materials.

We use a variety of assessment methods to ensure all aspects of learning are assessed and to accommodate individual learning preferences. You will need to demonstrate study skills and use these to analyse information from a variety of sources.

You will spend 7.5 hours a week in class and you will be expected to devote the same amount of time each week to independent study.
