Course SummaryThe Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading for Business course lasts 5 weeks and takes place during the daytime, currently scheduled across two and a half days (Monday, Tuesday and Friday). This course is designed for adults (19+) who are existing team leaders or those who aspired to be. When people are promoted to team leaders it is often because they have excelled in a more junior role. This course aims to give them the skills and knowledge to supplement their previous experience and to help them transition successfully into a supervisory position. The focus of the course will be on developing the essential people management and organisational skills that underpin effective team leadership. Participants will learn what the role of team leader encompasses, how to develop team performance, how to delegate and how to support individual team members. It will also look at business planning and reporting, health and safety and other factors affecting team leadership. The emphasis will be on the application of knowledge in a variety of business scenarios to allow students to acquire the technical skills to put into practice want they have learnt. The course may be free, depending on your circumstances, and you could also access a range of financial support – including help with childcare. Assessment MethodsThe objectives of this qualification are to: Develop knowledge related to team leadership styles, the roles and responsibilities of a team leader, planning and allocating work, developing team performance, setting targets and monitoring the work of a team Learn about the core knowledge required to work as a Team Leader, Section Leader, Floor Leader, Trainee Supervisor, Call Centre Team Manager or Supervisor Achieve a nationally-recognised Level 2 qualification Develop their own personal growth and engagement in learning. The Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading comprises of the following topics: Understanding the Role of the Team Leader (22%) Principles of Developing Team Performance (22%) Understanding Personal Development (22%) Principles of Managing and Supporting Team Members (34%) Assessment is 100% coursework through a variety of internally assessed methods, including assignments, workbooks, presentations, interviews and practical assessments. Replacement ID badges will be at a cost of £3 (or £8 if incorporated with a bus pass). For photocopying, students are provided with the first 80 black and white copies free of charge.
