Entry Requirements
We expect applicants to have either:
- A minimum of 120 UCAS points (excluding Functional Skills) in an appropriate discipline or equivalents
- A full Access to HE Diploma with Merits in Level 3 subjects
In addition to the above we would also expect applicants to have:
- Maths and English Language GCSEs at grade C/4 or above
Applicants for whom English is not their first language are expected to achieve a minimum 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each component.
We will also consider applicants who do not meet the academic entry requirements but who are able to demonstrate relevant work/life skills or knowledge. This will be undertaken on an individual basis and will be determined by whether we believe the individual is capable of completing the course successfully.
All applicants will have to undergo an entry interview to check their suitability for the programme.

Extra costs and equipment
Apart from providing your own stationery, you will not be required to purchase any additional equipment to undertake this programme as the college has resources available to students. However, there may be some opportunities that will not be a mandatory requirement of the programme but will be available to students at an additional cost. The CMI award sttracts an additional cost subject to the CMI tariffs. Further information will be provided on an annual basis as CMI release updated information.

Scheduled Learning
You will be expected to attend college two days a week for your sessions on campus. Each day will consist of 6 hours’ class-based sessions supported by our expert and friendly tutors, with further supporting resources available on our Virtual Learning Environment. These face-to-face sessions will be taught in a variety of ways including lectures, seminars, group discussions, peer-to-peer learning, tutorials and project supervision with the aim of supporting different learning styles.
Independent Study
Due to the nature of the accelerated degree format, we will also expect students to undertake independent study outside of scheduled learning hours. This is usual on all higher education courses and particularly so on this course where we anticipated that students will need, on average, to spend an additional 12 hours per week completed a series of tasks outside the classroom.
This will include various activities such as research, preparatory reading for subsequent taught sessions, essay and project planning and written assignments,

All tutors involved in the delivery of courses and apprenticeships within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver.
Our recruitment process ensures that tutors delivering a given programme are suitably qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and a familiarity with professional practice.
