Assessment MethodsOn this course, you will discover how to use different perming rods to produce soft spiral curls or waves and to generate root lift and natural curls for volume and support. You will also learn how to adapt your work for sensitised hair and how perming techniques can be personalised to produce the fashionable looks required by today’s perming clients. You will practise your skills on a peer and/or model and your tutor will provide feedback at the end of the session. A B&FC Certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the course. Teaching and Learning Methods This is a two day classroom/salon-based course. We use a variety of teaching methods to encourage you to develop your skills to a high level. Learning is delivered in a newly furbished and realistic working environment. Please note that you may be expected to model for the treatment as well as work on your peers. Industry Placement and Field Trips This course has no industry placements and no field trips. Other Costs and Equipment Needed You will be required to wear a professional salon uniform for this one-day course. If you are new to the industry and do not have a uniform, please do not worry. Simply wear plain black trousers, a plain black short-sleeved top and flat black shoes. The College will provide all other equipment and products needed to complete the course. On completion of this course, you may wish to purchase a kit so you can refine your new skills. We will provide you with details when you attend the course. Following receipt of your Certificate, you will need to liaise with your insurance company in relation to your cover. Expert Tutors All staff involved in the delivery of adult education courses within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver. The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice. Career Options and Progression Upon successful completion of this course, you may wish to progress onto a full-time course in hairdressing.
