What will I learn?
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant health and safety requirements, anatomy, physiology, and pathology and electrical science, alongside skin analysis and safe practice treatment protocols for facial skin care. Learners will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required to consult with clients, and provide specific aftercare and home care advice.

How will I learn?
Learners will develop their skills through a combination of practical and theoretical learning. This will include observing practical demonstrations, practising techniques on peers and external clients, and receiving taught theory sessions to support underpinning knowledge and safe practice.
How will I be assessed?
Learners must achieve all the mandatory units:
- Maintain health and safety in the salon
- Skin analysis and facial skincare
- Consultation and client care
- Anatomy, physiology and pathology
Electrical science
Assessment for this qualification is internally assessed and externally quality assured by VTCT. Learners are assessed through a combination of:
- Practical observations, where learners demonstrate treatments safely and professionally
- Written and/or online theory assessments to confirm underpinning knowledge
- Assignments and portfolio evidence to demonstrate understanding and application of learning
