In just 12 months, qualify to enrol on a public services degree-level course with our Access to HE Diploma. Ideal for those wanting a career in policing or the criminal justice sector, the course provides the skills and knowledge needed for further related degree-level study. You will need 3 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English Language and/or Maths. We also accept NVQs in place of GCSEs but you will need to provide evidence of these.
Prior to enrolment we will invite you in to complete literacy and numeracy assessments, a written exercise and an informal discussion with the Course Tutor
Modules and Assessment
Teaching and Learning Methods
This part-time course runs from September to June and comprises 10 timetabled hours held over two days each week. We would also expect you to devote a similar amount of time each week to private study, for research, background reading and the creation of drafts and final reports.
We use a range of teaching methods on the course. The work is classroom based and involves activities such as essays, reports and presentations.

All staff involved in the delivery of adult education courses within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver. The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
