Summary

This is a progression course from the Applied Science - Foundation Degree to the BSc (Hons) Applied Science (Biotechnology).

The BSc (Hons) Applied Science (Biotechnology) Top-up Degree provides an advanced level of study for those who have completed the Foundation Degree in Applied Science (Biotechnology) and wish to gain a full honours qualification. This programme has been designed in collaboration with local and regional employers to ensure it meets the needs of the modern scientific workplace and supports the development of highly employable, technically skilled, and critically minded biotechnologists.

Throughout this top-up degree, you will engage critically with the latest research and scientific literature in the field of biotechnology. You will develop an awareness of the evolving nature of biotechnology and enhance your ability to work independently, applying creative and evidence-based approaches to solving complex scientific problems. The programme builds on the technical and theoretical foundations established at foundation degree level, enabling you to refine your laboratory practice, data analysis, and scientific communication skills to professional standards.
