Modules and Assessment
Teaching and Learning Methods
While lectures, seminars and practical workshops feature strongly in the teaching and learning strategy, we will be making considerable use of alternative methods of delivery and study, particularly online options such as tutor and self-assessment revision tests and formative exercises, Powerpoint and other software-based lecture materials, learning portals and hyper-linked resource materials.
It is the paid or voluntary work experience that sets our degrees apart from other higher education institutions; this real-life professional practice is embedded within the learning experience and is constantly referenced in assignments and lecturer-led activities. Other work-referenced learning activities sit alongside traditional lectures and include live and online projects, presentations, workshops and facilitated student discussion.
This course is a one-year course that consists of 12 hours' class contact time over 32 weeks. There is also a requirement to undertake work placement (paid or voluntary) for a minimum of one day per week. The remaining hours are provided for independent study to complete coursework and assessments.
