Course Overview

The Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent is delivered as a 3-week programme, with 3 hours’ College attendance a week, term-time only. Its aim is to increase your knowledge and awareness of the Prevent Duty and safeguarding, including online safety. By completing the qualification, you will develop knowledge of safeguarding in an environment where you have a duty of care. This qualification will not only support employment opportunities, but also progression to the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools and Colleges. If you’re already working or volunteering in a school, this course will support your Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Expert tuition is delivered by our industry specialists on this programme, with access to continued online support to assist in completing your assignments. 
 

Entry Requirements

No previous training or experience is required for this programme but you must be at least 19.

Teaching and Learning Methods

You will attend College for a 3-hour session weekly for 3 weeks (term-time only). Within these sessions there will be tutor delivery, question and answers, discussion, observation, group work tasks and individual tasks. It is expected that you will complete a minimum of three hours’ independent study each week (outside of the class) to complete your assignments.
