Course Overview
One in two people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. For many individuals, diagnosis can be a daunting and overwhelming time. Being able to access the right levels of care and services provides valuable support when people need it most. As cancer treatments are improved and more people survive cancer, an awareness of the impact of living with cancer long-term and knowledge of how to support individuals is vital for anyone caring for someone with cancer. This qualification is designed for anyone who want to increase their knowledge and understanding of supporting adults living with cancer. It could be used as a continuous professional development (CPD) qualification for those already working within the health care and social care sectors or for individuals providing informal care.
Entry Requirements
No previous training or experience is required for this programme but you must be over 19 year of age on the 31st August before the course start date.

Teaching and Learning Methods
This course will be delivered remotely with live lectures and support sessions scheduled for a total of 4.5 hours a week for 10 consecutive weeks from the course start date. Within these sessions there will be tutor delivery, question and answer, discussion, group work tasks and individual tasks. The tutor will also be available for weekly support and to guide you from the beginning to the completion of your qualification.
It is expected that you will complete a minimum of 3 hours independent study, each week, outside of the class to complete the assessment tasks which take the form of electronic workbooks.
