Enhance your career prospects with the Level 2 Award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities. This 10-week programme is ideal for those already working or volunteering in a relevant area (to develop their underpinning knowledge) as well as those looking for a role actively supporting individuals with learning disabilities. The qualification provides essential knowledge and skills, not only to support employment opportunities, but also the possibility of progressing to the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties. Attendance at College is 3 hours a week, term-time only.
No previous training or experience is required for this programme but you must be at least 19.
Teaching and Learning Methods
You will attend college for a 3-hour session, weekly (term-time only) for 10 weeks. Within these sessions there will be tutor delivery, question and answers, discussion, observation, group work tasks and individual tasks. It is expected that you will also complete a minimum of 3 hours’ independent study, weekly, to complete your assignments.

The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
