Course Overview

Advance your career in the health or social care sector by developing your understanding of dignity and safeguarding. Whether you’re already a qualified professional or you’re at the start of your career, this four-week course provides specialist knowledge to support your personal and professional development. The course focuses on the key principles of dignity, duty of care and safeguarding and how to apply these within everyday health and social care settings. You will also explore the potential dilemmas that can arise when these principles aren’t upheld. With this industry-recognised qualification you could progress to related specialist roles and/or higher level study.

Entry Requirements

No previous training or experience is required to do this course however you will ideally be aged 19 or over.

Teaching and Learning Methods

The course requires you to attend a 3-hour session at College each week for 4 weeks, with the following choice of times:

  • Tuesday 6-9pm (starts 20/2/18)
  • Tuesday 1.30-4.30pm (starts 15/5/18)
  • Thursday 9.45am-12.45pm (starts 12/4/18)

The sessions will involve group activities and discussions, with 1-2-1 support also provided. When you start the course, we will assign you a group tutor who will support you in collating your written evidence.

You will also need to complete some independent learning.
