Advance your career in the health or social care sector by developing your awareness of falls prevention. Designed for qualified professionals and new starters alike, this four-week course provides specialist knowledge and skills intended to prevent the incidences of falls, currently the largest cause of emergency hospital admissions for older people. You will learn about the impact and consequences of falls, the risks and hazards that contribute to falls, and – most importantly – how to reduce these risks. This is an industry-recognised qualification that will equip you to progress to related specialist roles and/or higher level study.
You don't need any training or experience to do this course however, ideally, you will be 19 or over.

Teaching and Learning Methods
The course requires you to attend a 3-hour session at College each week for 4 weeks, with the following choice of times:
Thursday 9.45am-12.45pm (starts 22/2/18)
Tuesday 1.30-4.30pm (starts 10/4/18)
Tuesday 6-9pm (starts 15/5/18)
The sessions will involve group activities and discussions, with 1-2-1 support also provided. When you start the course, we will assign you a group tutor who will support you in collating your written evidence.

All staff involved in the delivery of any courses within the College are approved to teach and/or assess the subjects and modules they deliver. The approval process ensures that staff delivering and/or assessing a given programme are appropriately qualified, with relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
