Course Code: SC1FE360
Next available course:
If you are keen to work in a counselling role, the Level 4 Diploma Therapeutic Counselling provides the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to support your career aspirations. Designed primarily to prepare you to work as a therapeutic counsellor in an agency context, the course leads equally to employed and voluntary roles as to healthcare and non-medical settings. Upon successful completion, providing you have enough suitable experience, you could begin working as an independent practitioner in a private practice. The course is part-time, delivered one day a week over two years.
You must have successfully passed a level 3 Counselling course. In addition, you must not be in a current state of severe emotional difficulty or severe psychological confusion and you must not be currently involved in substance misuse (there is a requirement to be two years post-rehabilitation).
You should be aware that we recommend candidates set aside approximately 6-8 hours a week for personal study time to include completion of assignments, personal supervision, client work and personal therapy.
Your offer of a place on the course will be dependent on a written application, two references and an interview.
