Course Overview

This qualification provides an in-depth understanding of the knowledge and skills required when working directly with adults in a health and social care setting. This course is designed specifically for adult learners who are either already working or are able to volunteer in a health and social care setting.  It will support you to gain employment and/or further your career working with adults in health and social care. Within this course, not only will you gain a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care you will also gain a wide variety of skills that will support you in your career.  You will acquire a bank of knowledge relevant to your role and also learn a range of strategies surrounding communication, dementia and mental health. All classes are taught by specialist tutors with a wealth of experience in the sector.  All tutors engage in regular updating of skills within the industry and research to ensure currency of practice and information. The part time programme design means that our provision is ideal for adults wishing to embark on a career change but who have other employment or family commitments.  The choice of class times is designed to accommodate family life.

To do this course you must have written confirmation from a suitable provider that they are willing to offer you a relevant weekly work placement for the duration of your course.

Teaching and Learning Methods

Attendance at College consists of weekly three-hour sessions throughout the course.

Teaching is delivered in groups and supported by group activities and discussions. One-to-one support is also provided.

When you start the course we will assign you a progress tutor who will support you in collating a portfolio of evidence and an assessor, who will attend your placement and assess your competence in the workplace. Your assessor will carry out at least three workplace assessments and also engage you in professional discussions.
