The Introduction to Using Pets as Therapy in Schools course is aimed at those looking to develop an initial understanding of pets, primarily dogs, that are assisting in the learning environment.
This course will introduce ideas relating to benefits and potential difficulties of dogs supporting children and young people in school, as well as a brief overview of associated legislation.
No previous training or experience is required for this programme but you must be at least 19.
Teaching and Learning Methods
You will complete this specialist course during a 2 hour online session using Microsoft Teams.
Within this session, there will be tutor delivery, question and answer, discussion, group work tasks and individual tasks.
