Entry Requirements

This programme is for adults aged 19 and over who are seeking to gain qualifications within the fundamentals of Social Care. Although there are no formal qualifications required to enter the programme, you will need to complete a basic entry assessment and we will invite you for an informal discussion with the course tutor to ensure that this course is right for you.

Fees and funding

Whether you pay for an adult education course will depend on the course itself and on your personal circumstances. Many courses attract full funding for eligible students. If your course does not attract funding or you cannot secure funding due to your personal circumstances, you can still study with us by either applying for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost of your tuition fees or by funding yourself in the unlikely event that you are not eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan.

What will I learn?

What will I learn?

The programme comprises three separate elements, including:

NCFE L1 Award in Caring for Children. Gain comprehensive knowledge and essential skills needed to care for children and young people, including their growth, learning, and development.

NCFE L1 Award in Introduction to Health, Social Care, and Children's and Young People's Settings. Develop a thorough understanding of the various types of provision within the Health, Social Care, and Children’s and Young People’s sectors.

NCFE L1 Certificate in Wellbeing. Explore a wide range of well-being topics and understand their impact on individuals and communities.

Industry placement, field trips and guest speakers

There are no industry placements or field trips associated with this programme.

How will I learn?

Hours are classroom based 9.30- 2.30 a lunch break will be included in that time. No practical this is theory based there may be up to 3 hours independent study to complete weekly also.

Assessed by written assignments, projects, questions as evidence of competence on their eportfolio (OneFile), these combined will achieve 100% on their portfolio.
