Advance your career in adult healthcare with the Level 2 Health and Social Care (Adult) programme. Whether you’re new to the sector or not, this exciting new qualification develops key knowledge and skills for a range of clinical healthcare support roles in adult care settings. The programme covers areas such as dementia awareness and mental health/wellbeing with the focus on supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, and daily living needs. Benefit from industry specialist tutors and a part-time programme format with a choice of class times to fit around work and/or other commitments.
To be eligible for this programme you will need written confirmation from a suitable organisation that they are willing to provide you with a weekly work placement for the duration of the programme.
It is beneficial (but not essential) to have some paid or voluntary experience of working in this sector.
Modules and Assessment
Teaching and Learning Methods
You will attend College for a 3-hour session each week during term-time. These sessions will include group activities and discussion, with 1-2-1 support also provided.
When you start the programme we will assign you a progress tutor, who will support you in collating your written evidence and an assessor, who will carry out at least two work placement assessments. Your assessor will also engage you in professional discussions.

All staff involved in the delivery of adult education courses within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver. The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
