GCSE Maths Edexcel 9-1 specification will consist of a range of topics including number, statistics, geometry and measure, algebra, probability and rates of change.
You will develop the knowledge, skills and understanding of the above mathematical concepts. You will use your knowledge to make connections between these concepts, use mathematical reasoning and be able to apply the fundamentals of mathematics to solve problems in real-life situations.
We can offer you a place on this course if you have a grade D or Grade 3 at GCSE or Functional Skills at Level 2 in the relevant subject. We can also offer you an initial assessment if you do not already have a grade D. You will be expected to achieve 70% on the initial assessment.

Teaching and Learning Methods
The course is delivered over 30 weeks and you can choose from the different times, days and venues across the College to suit your circumstances. During the course, we offer the opportunity to access learning online which is supported by a range of excellent interactive resources.
The course includes 3 hours per week of face to face teaching time and independent study will be required in between sessions. The course aims to deepen understanding and improve skills in number, algebra, geometry, statistics and rates of change through a range of teaching methods including independent study, group work and problem solving.

All staff involved in the delivery of adult education courses within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver. The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
