Course Overview

The Introduction to Sign Language course introduces you to the principles of British Sign Language (BSL), from learning the basics to communicating in restaurants. You will also explore the importance of learning to sign in order to understand and communicate with deaf people. Whether you want to work with others, or you just want to know more for yourself, this course will cover a range of topics and provide multiple examples for assessment.

This is a class-based course, comprising a mix of signed conversation, text book exercises and video learning. Each term is 10 weeks in length, with each session lasting 2 hours.
