This course is an introduction to some of the basic ideas of creative writing, focusing on exploring the elements of fiction writing with the goal of working towards publication. Such elements include plots and character building, with students also having an opportunity to undertake poetry writing exercises. Creative writing helps to build confidence in the way you present yourself on paper, and allows you to develop your vocabulary, with a broader understanding of your target audience.
You must have an enthusiasm for writing and creativity.
Teaching and Learning Methods
This course comprises class-based sessions. Delivery will be combine both teacher and student-led activities. Each term is 10 weeks in length, with each session lasting 2 hours. You will be required to do some project work in your own time.
