Course Overview
Through this course you will be introduced to the techniques of painting, using watercolours. In the first week an Initial Assessment will ensure you are on the correct level of course. This is an initial start, and thorough grounding, for those with little experience of painting in watercolour. In Term 1, you will explore the basics required for learning to use watercolour paints, brushes and paper, mixing and making different tones, and learning to stretch and prepare paper perspectives.

Assessment Methods
Teaching and Learning Methods
This is a practical session held in an art workshop. There will be practical demonstrations and you will be expected to participate in practical activities each week, with the specialist guidance and support of the tutor. Each term is 10 weeks in length, with each session lasting 2 hours. You will need to do some work on your projects in your own time.
