Develop the computer skills to improve your career prospects and be more efficient in your everyday life.
On this course you will learn how to:
- use technology to plan and organise work
- use the correct software to solve complex problems
- recognise the danger of computer viruses and minimise risk.
Focus is placed on managing files, folders and other storage to enable efficient retrieval of the information.
Entering, developing and refining information using appropriate software to meet requirements of complex data handling tasks are all addressed.
Anyone aged 19+ can access this course.
Plus we are able to offer you a free place if you are:
- earning less than £16,000 per year, or
- are unemployed and in receipt of benefits
You will be given the opportunity to complete an initial assessment, to identify your current ICT capabilities and your individual learning goals required to pass the course.
Teaching and Learning Methods
The course will be delivered over 15 weeks, in a classroom based environment.
During the course, we offer the opportunity to access learning online, which is supported by a range of excellent interactive resources.

All staff involved in the delivery of adult education courses within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver. The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
