Our BSc Hons in Human Biosciences tops up the graduates of our foundation course to a full BSc Hons. This newly developed course utilises current laboratory equipment and industry standard facilities to provide learners with the skills they need to become professional and employable scientists. Upon successful completion, graduating students will be able to embark on scientific careers in local and central government, the food and pharmaceutical industries, forensic or laboratory sciences. Graduates might also move onto postgraduate research or opt to join the Scientist Training Programme through the NHS and study for an MSc in a chosen discipline. This course is validated by Lancaster University.
To be considered for this top-up course, you will need to have achieved a minimum of a pass in our Foundation Degree in Human Biosciences.

Teaching and Learning Methods
The course consists of around 400 hours of lectures and we expect you to devote an additional 150 hours to independent learning.
We use a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, presentations, practical laboratory work, seminars and workshops, projects and tutorials. Access to electronic resources is via our Virtual Learning Environment – Moodle – and supported by our experienced learning resource advisers.
We encourage you to take a proactive approach to your learning and offer several opportunities for you to work independently as well as part of a group. This provides enormous scope for you to develop on a personal level.
