Course Overview

Start the journey towards your career with animals through the Level 2 Animal and Applied Science. You can study your GCSEs as part of this one-year study programme, with dedicated GCSE classes delivered by our expert tutors. This course actually consists of two level 2 qualifications: one in Animal Care and the other in Applied Science. You will therefore have two attempts at completing a level 2 qualification and experience 2 qualifications. This means lots of variety, a range of industry placement opportunities, professional talks and exciting field trips. Upon successful completion, you will be able to apply for our Level 3 Animal Science or Applied Science.

Entry Requirements

You will need grade D in Maths or English, and a D in Science.

Qualification Obtained

BTEC First Award in Animal Care

Essential Skills – English and Maths

If you achieve a grade 3 in GCSE Maths or English you will have to work towards re-sitting these subjects as part of your main study programme. At B&FC, this won’t delay your career journey because you’re working towards these subjects at the same time as your chosen subject.
