Laboratory Science - Level 2

This course has been created in response to local industrial need for scientists. The Level 2 Technical Diploma in Laboratory Science is fully funded for those earning below the wage cap of £15, 736.50/year, with more funding information available on our funding page.
The programme is a Level 2 course and is an ideal entry point for those interested in developing their skills in science, ready for studies at Level 3. You will gain a solid foundation in science analytical and practical methods as part of this introductory course, and will be eligible to study our Level 3 programmes upon successful completion of this course.
This course is open to those aged 19 and above, with previous experience in science preferable, but not essential. Level 1 in English and Maths is an advantage.
Teaching and Learning Methods
A combination of group work, individual learning and tutor-led sessions creates a well-rounded learning experience that caters to different learning styles. Parts of your studies will be in our industry-standard science laboratories. The programme is typically around 360 hours, which includes a minimum amount of independent study.

All staff involved in the delivery of adult education courses within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver. The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
