ACS Natural Gas to LPG Assessment Summary Where can this subject lead? Key information Summary Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG, also known as propane or butane) is an alternative fuel used in heating appliances, cooking equipment and leisure accommodation vehicles, including boats, yachts, campervans and caravans. This LPG Changeover course is for experienced operatives who wish to undertake commissioning, installation, service and repair of LPG appliances in permanent dwellings (CCLP1 PD) and other premise types. Career progressionSuccessful completion of the programme will allow operatives to commission and work on LPG appliances in domestic settings provided they have the required certification in each of the appliances concerned. Key information Entry RequirementsOperatives must hold either the Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety (CCN1) or Core Commercial Gas Safety (COCN1). We will need to see evidence of this prior to the start of the programme Also operatives must hold the domestic natural gas qualification for LPG appliance types that they wish to work on. For example, to work on a an LPG fired cooker on a boat, operatives must hold the following: Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) Cookers (CKR1) LPG Changeover (CONGLP1) Boats (CONGLP B) You have to be be registered with Gas Safe Register and held your ACS for a minimum of 12 months to do this course. Please note: Where wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a mandatory requirement of the course, it is the responsibility of the learner to ensure that they are able to wear such equipment.
