Though not a legislative requirement, most principal contractors and major house builders require construction workers on their sites to hold a valid CSCS card. Entry Requirements

There are no in gaining a CSCS card, but the card you receive will depend on the qualifications you have obtained.

Please note: Where wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a mandatory requirement of the course, it is the responsibility of the learner to ensure that they are able to wear such equipment. What will I learn?

Industry placement, field trips and guest speakers

There are no work placements and no field trips on this programme.

How will I learn?

CSCS training focuses on health and safety awareness among construction workers in an attempt to minimise accidents and fatalities on-site.

This one-day programme is delivered within a class-based environment at our Blackpool Build Up Centre, Kincraig Campus. Training is facilitated by our expert assessors and culminates in an online touchscreen test.

Expert tutors

All staff involved in the delivery of any courses within the College are approved to teach and/or assess the subjects and modules they deliver.

The approval process ensures that staff delivering and/or assessing a given programme are appropriately qualified, with relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.

How will I be assessed?

How will I be assessed?

To achieve CSCS certification, you will need to pass either the CITB Operatives or Specialists Health, Safety and Environment Test, depending on your occupation.

The programme concludes with a touchscreen test. As soon as we get the results from our test centre we will apply for your CSCS card.
