Bench Joinery - Level 2

The level 2 Bench Joinery course is the beginning of your journey into specialising within your chosen craft area. You will experience various elements of workshop/Bench based practical and theory work, with the view of preparing you for the industry and potentially onto the level 3 Bench Joinery course. Throughout the academic year you will undertake a work placement and work on community challenges, providing you with real industrial experience.
The successful completion of a level 1 in Carpentry & Joinery, or relevant industry experience.
All 16-18 year old applicants will be invited to attend an interview to meet a tutor and ask any questions they may have about the course.
Teaching and Learning Methods
This course has various methods of delivery for example subjects will include: Site Visits, Guest Speakers, Guest Lecturers, Seminars, Class based written work, Digital Devices and E-Learning, Field visits and Role play.
We have various specialised pieces of craft based training equipment used in industry. You will continue to develop skills relevant to bench joinery and carry out safe working practises in construction.

All staff involved in the delivery of further education courses within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver. The approval process ensures that staff delivering a given programme are appropriately qualified and, where appropriate, possess relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
