Assistant Accountant - Advanced Apprenticeship

Summary

Assistant Accountants have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. An Assistant Accountant provides support to internal and external customers and will work predominately either as an assistant accountant within practice or alternatively within the finance function of an organisation.

What will I learn?

Industry placement, field trips and guest speakers

The Apprentice must be if full time employment, with a contract of employment. 

The employer must be in agreement to allow the Skills Coach and Specialist Practitioner access to the learner.

How will I learn?

The course is delivered at college and in workplace, teaching will be delivered one day a week in college, via online resources, through 1:1 delivery with your skills coach and training from your employer.

Expert tutors

All staff involved in the delivery of any courses within the College are approved to teach and/or assess the subjects and modules they deliver.

The approval process ensures that staff delivering and/or assessing a given programme are appropriately qualified, with relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.

These will be assessed at the end of the qualification by the awarding organisation, the assessments will consist of:

  • A synoptic end-test covering the knowledge and skills gained throughout the on-programme stage and detailed in the standard
  • A portfolio and reflective discussion which will comprise a range of evidence produced in the work place to demonstrate that the apprentice has met the knowledge, skills and behaviours detailed in the standard.
