ACS Domestic to Commercial Gas Safety Assessment

Summary

On completion of the course you will be qualified in the installation, testing and purging, commissioning and serving of gas pipework systems greater than 0.035m³ up to 1m³ (IGEM/UP/1A), and greater than 1m³ (IGEM/UP/1), and direct and indirect gas heating appliances over 70 KW as well as overhead radiant heaters. IGEM/UP/1 also allows for tightness testing on LPG pipework installations.

Entry Requirements

Domestic core gas safety CCN1 and appliances is mandatory.

Evidence of prior commercial qualifications/completed relevant training is desirable.

All equipment and materials are provided by the centre, candidates are asked to wear their own safety footwear in workshop environments.

Practical and theory training and assessment of installation, testing, purging, commissioning and servicing of commercial gas pipework and appliances. These are weighted about 50% theory and practical and can be tailored to specific needs and prior experience if needed.

Assessments are through practical tasks and multiple-choice question papers weighted about 50% each, in the same way assessments are done with domestic qualifications.
