Course Summary Course Summary This training will enable gas engineers to expand their scope of work to include Domestic Gas Cooking Appliances. The training will cover free standing and slide in cookers, built in hotplates, built in/under ovens and grill units. Entry Requirements Must already be accredited with either (CCN1) Domestic Gas Safety or (COCDN1) Change over from Commercial Core to Domestic Gas. Must be Gas Safe Registered for a minimum of 6 months for any additional appliances. Please note: Where wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a mandatory requirement of the course, it is the responsibility of the learner to ensure that they are able to wear such equipment. Learning and Teaching Methods The training will cover: Free standing and slide in cookers Built in hotplates Built in/under ovens and grill units Industry Placement and Field Trips N/A At Blackpool and The Fylde College we recognise that all students learn differently and our tutors work with you to ensure that their teaching methods support the way that you like to learn. This training consists of 7 hours per week classroom/workshop learning for your practical and underpinning knowledge, normally over 1 day per week. One key teaching and learning method is that of demonstrations. Your tutors ensure that demonstrations are used whenever possible so you can see the practical skill being used, then practise the skill. Following demonstrations, you will then have hands on practical time where you will be implementing the skill learned. Expert Tutors All staff involved in the delivery of business to business courses within the College are approved to teach the subjects and modules they deliver. Our teaching staff are appropriately qualified, with relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
