Course SummaryThis CENWAT reassessment course tests the competence of existing gas central hearing engineers who have already completed an original CENWAT qualification. The programme ensures that operatives remain competent to install, exchange, commission, disconnect, service, and repair breakdown of domestic gas fired central heating/hot water boilers and circulators, combination boilers, storage water heaters and instantaneous water heaters of heat input ≤ 70 kW. It also ensure that they receive the latest industry standard training incorporating any updates since their last training programme. Entry RequirementsTo undertake re-assessment, candidates must complete the course no more than 12 months after the expiry date of their existing CENWAT qualification. The re-assessment can, however, be completed up to six months before this expiry date without losing any time on the future expiry date. From Monday 1st September 2022, candidates must have been registered on the Gas Safe Register for a minimum of 12 months to add additional appliances to their initial registration. Please note: Where wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a mandatory requirement of the course, it is the responsibility of the learner to ensure that they are able to wear such equipment. Qualification ObtainedCENWAT Reassessment Industry Placement and Field TripsThere are no work placements or field trips associated with this course. Learning and Teaching MethodsYou will cover the following areas: Checking the heating requirements and appliance outputs Checking the intended installation site Gas connection and supply pipes Ventilation requirements Tightness testing Flusing, commissioning and testing the appliance/system Securing the appliance correctly Flueing requirements, including condensate outflow Operating pressures The course will take place in our dedicated gas training centre which has state-of-the-art teaching facilities allowing you to practise what you learn in a simulated environment. This will in turn allow the tutor to assess that you are working competently and safely and give you any feedback necessary to improve your working practices. Expert Tutors All our course tutors have extensive industry experience and regularly refresh their knowledge by spending time in the sector ensuring they are well versed in recent industry developments. All of this means that they can confidently advise and guide course attendees with a real understanding of what working in the sector is like. Assessment MethodsTo be awarded the qualification, you must successfully pass the associated theory and practical assessments associated with the course. You will, however, have plenty of opportunity to practice the various aspects of the practical assessment you are expected to undertake and receive ongoing feedback and guidance from the course tutor to ensure your theoretical knowledge is up to scratch.
