CENWAT Reassessment

Summary

This CENWAT reassessment course tests the competence of existing gas central hearing engineers who have already completed an original CENWAT qualification. The programme ensures that operatives remain competent to install, exchange, commission, disconnect, service, and repair breakdown of domestic gas fired central heating/hot water boilers and circulators, combination boilers, storage water heaters and instantaneous water heaters of heat input ≤ 70 kW. It also ensure that they receive the latest industry standard training incorporating any updates since their last training programme.

Career progression

On successful completion, this reassessment course qualifies individuals to continue to work on a wide variety of domestic central heating systems for the next five years before needing to repeat their reassessment.

Key information

Entry Requirements

To undertake re-assessment, candidates must complete the course no more than 12 months after the expiry date of their existing CENWAT qualification. The re-assessment can, however, be completed up to six months before this expiry date without losing any time on the future expiry date.

From Monday 1st September 2022, candidates must have been registered on the Gas Safe Register for a minimum of 12 months to add additional appliances to their initial registration.

Please note: Where wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a mandatory requirement of the course, it is the responsibility of the learner to ensure that they are able to wear such equipment. To be awarded the qualification, you must successfully pass the associated theory and practical assessments associated with the course.

You will, however, have plenty of opportunity to practice the various aspects of the practical assessment you are expected to undertake and receive ongoing feedback and guidance from the course tutor to ensure your theoretical knowledge is up to scratch.
