This two-day core gas safety training course is designed to prepare candidates for CCN1 assessment. It is especially suited to those with little or no formal gas safety experience who want to get to grips with all the key elements of planning, installing and maintaining domestic gas systems safely and competently.
It is also useful refresher training for those who may have been out of the industry for a while and who need to get up to speed with the latest technical and regulatory developments.

Career Progression & Prospects
Certification Membership of the Gas Safe Register is a legal requirement for any installer wishing to carry out gas work in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey.
This course prepares you to take your Initial Assessment for Natural Gas Safety which will, in turn, allow you to register for membership of Gas Safe.

What You’ll Learn
Our CCN1 gas training course covers the following topics:
- Gas Safety Legislation & Regulations: Understanding UK gas laws and the requirements of the Gas Safe Register.
- Combustion & Gas Pressures: Ensuring safe operation of gas appliances.
- Pipework & Installation: Safe handling, fitting, and testing of gas pipes.
- Flueing & Ventilation: Correct installation and maintenance of ventilation for gas appliances.
- Tightness Testing & Purging: Safely checking for gas leaks and clearing systems.
- Emergency Procedures: Steps to take in case of a gas leak or carbon monoxide risk.
How You’ll Learn
Training runs over two days and takes place in our dedicated Gas Training Centre which provides a simulated environment in which candidates can practise the skills and procedures demonstrated by the tutors.
Training is also given to ensure that the candidate has the underpinning knowledge to complete the written sections when completing the assessment.
Expert tutors
All tutors involved in the delivery of courses and/or assessments within the College are approved to teach and/or assess the subjects and modules they deliver.
The approval process ensures that staff delivering and/or assessing a given programme are appropriately qualified, with relevant technical and industrial experience and professional practice.
How You’ll Be Assessed
This training course prepares candidates for the CCN1 Assessment so there will be ample opportunity to run through all the key aspects of the assessment to give you the best chance of passing your CCN1 assessment. Tutors will provide vital feedback on both practical and knowledge-based tasks to increase the likelihood of success.
