Gaining this qualification allows you to carry out domestic energy assessments and produce Energy Performance Certificates, creating opportunities for self-employment, contract work, or roles with estate agents, housing providers, and energy consultancies. There are no formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking the qualification. However, centres must ensure that candidates have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification.

What You’ll Learn

The Domestic Energy Assessor training covers the following:

  • How to produce accurate Energy Performance Certificates for existing residential properties.
  • How to use the government-approved RdSAP software for data entry and EPC production.
  • How to collect the necessary data to evaluate a property's energy efficiency.
  • How to explain your findings to property owners

You will also cover areas such as health and safety, compliance and professional standards to ensure you have the all-round skills to work effectively as a DEA.

How You’ll Learn

The course is predominately classroom based and industry-focused. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and cement the knowledge and skills you have gained.
