Alumni

It’s never been easier to get in touch with old friends, organise reunions and keep up to date with the B&FC Community.

Once you graduate from your course, you’ll have the opportunity to join our alumni network, which will enable your B&FC experience to continue beyond completion of your programme.

Being part of our alumni network brings you exclusive invitations to networking opportunities and other benefits.

It also enables you to keep in touch with us – letting us know how you got on after completing your course.

Careers advice and guidance

Graduates from B&FC are entitled to use the Careers Service for careers guidance interviews for up to three years after graduation. Once you graduate you can book an appointment with one of our careers practitioners by emailing careers@blackpool.ac.uk

Our Student Advisers also work with employers in many ways, including advertising job vacancies, hosting recruitment activities and conducting interviews on their behalf.

Visit https://www.blackpool.ac.uk/support.

Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR)

Your HEAR, issued to you on graduation, provides verified information about your academic and College approved/verified non-degree related achievements.

It is an electronic document that will be available to you forever.

HEARs are designed to give potential employers and other educational establishments additional insight into your course content as well as individual achievements that have been verified by the College, such as DegreePlus.

Your HEAR can be shared securely with a potential employer or future postgraduate tutor and acts as a reminder when making applications for jobs and further study.

Visit https://www.blackpool.ac.uk/hear for further details

Gradintelligence

Gradintelligence is the online system that B&FC students use to generate and access their HEAR.

B&FC is one of many institutions working in partnership with Gradintelligence to deliver their HEARs.

Using Gradintelligence, you can access your HEAR as it develops throughout your studies and share it securely with any employer, university or other third party as a verified record of your achievements in higher education, or use it in support of applications for employment and further study.

You can continue to use your Gradintelligence account after graduating, with access to a full bank of resources to help continue building your employability skills.

Events

As a graduate we want you to get involved. You will receive exclusive invitations to alumni events and we would also welcome your participation at open days and careers fairs, as a guest speaker, and at public events

For more information, email communications@blackpool.ac.uk.

Graduate Outcomes Survey

Your future shapes our future. The Graduate Outcomes survey is a national survey capturing information about the activities and perspectives of graduates 15 months after they finish their studies.

All graduates who completed a course will be asked to take part in the survey, in order to help current and future students gain an insight into career destinations and development. Your responses will also help B&FC to evaluate and promote its courses.

Supporting B&FC

Work-based learning opportunities and industry placements

At B&FC we work closely with businesses, and public and voluntary sector organisations to ensure our programmes meet the needs of employers in all sectors.

Many programmes include work-based learning and/or placements as part of the learning process.

It may be that in your new employment you are able to offer a placement or a live brief for students to work on, or maybe you would be willing to visit the College as a guest speaker to share your experiences with students. If so please email: placements@blackpool.ac.uk.

Programme and apprenticeship development

We offer a range of programmes and apprenticeships and can also develop tailored programmes to meet the specific needs of an individual organisation. If you would like to know more or feel there’s a need in a particular sector you’ve gone on to work in:

Share your story

We’d like to know where your student journey has led you. You might be a teacher in a school where you did a study placement, or an artist working with one of our business partners, or you may be pursuing an entirely unexpected career path.

Your achievements are important and could help to motivate and encourage current and prospective students.

To share your story and inspire others to achieve their ambitions, email communications@blackpool.ac.uk.
