Alan Cavill

Director of Communication and Regeneration, Blackpool Council.

Alan has working on large regeneration projects in the North West including Salford Quays, Workington Ironworks, Preston Docks and East Manchester.

Before moving to Blackpool in 1997 to manage Blackpool Challenge Partnership he spent 15 years with Central Government in Manchester in the Department of Transport, Department of Environment and Government Office for the North West.

Before taking on his current role, Alan was Blackpool Council's Assistant Chief Executive of Regeneration, Tourism and Culture at Blackpool Council and responsible for Regeneration, Enterprise and Employment, Tourism, Business & Visitor Economy Strategy, Libraries, Heritage and the Illuminations department.

Alan is a member of the Institute of Economic Development and has a degree in chemistry from Salford University.

His interests include football and music.
