What our students say...

I liked that the T Level was hands-on, which gives you a head start whether you’re going on to university or getting a job. I really enjoyed my placement because I got to work alongside the healthcare assistants and work with patients at different stages of their care.
Nick, Health T Level
I found GCSEs difficult, and I didn’t want the same emphasis on theory in my next step. T Levels suited me as I got to see the theory in action, so it made a lot more sense as I had experienced it.
Andrew, Early Years Education T Level
The placement made me want to be a paramedic even more than before. Being able to get the experience and carry out tasks but also learn from the medical staff and paramedics was really valuable.
Hollie, Health T Level
I chose T Levels because I am a visual learner and it’s been a whirlwind throughout. I feel like all of the hard work has paid off. I got to work at an incredible place and have been supported throughout, which allowed me to grow and set me up for employment.
Cordelia, Cyber Security T Level
  • 100% Pass rate for T Level students
  • 60% of all T Level students achieved a Merit Grade or above
  • 53% planning to go to university, 26% into apprenticeships, 21% into employment

Student Case Study - Tia

Tia has just completed her T Level in Primary Teaching at B&FC and was delighted to find out that she had achieved a Distinction (equivalent to 3 As at A Level) when the final results came out. This was especially pleasing for Tia who had studied the first year of her course elsewhere and nearly failed.

At B&FC, however, she found the tutors truly inspirational and particularly enjoyed her T Level placement at a local school where she was able to put so much of what she'd learnt into practice and also acquire numerous practical skills from the teachers there.

Tia is now off to study a degree in primary education at university with a place guaranteed by her T Level success. Asked whether she'd recommend the qualifcation to others, Tia didn't hesitate:

"I'd 100% recommend T Levels to anyone who was thinking of doing one."

Entry Requirements

You will need 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths (for primary teaching you will also need Science).

Pre T Levels

Didn't get the GCSE grades you wanted? Many of our subject areas offer Level 2 Pre T Level courses that prepare you for the full T Level.

If you didn't quite get the grades with your GCSE English or maths results, you can study to resit these qualifications alongside the course of your choice so that you don’t have to waste time repeating a year.

What's covered?

T Levels are studied five days a week and made up of core skills, subject knowledge, English and maths and an industry placement.

You’ll spend 80% of your time in the classroom and the remaining 20% on a relevant industry placement, getting real on-the-job experience.

Where could a T Level take me?

T Levels lead to a nationally-recognised qualification with an overall grade of Pass, Merit or Distinction. They equip young people to progress to university, highly skilled employment or a higher/degree apprenticeship.

Getting into University

University entry requirements are based on the UCAS Tariff. The tariff allocates points to each qualification grade so everyone can easily work out what they need for a particular university.

The table below shows how T Levels equate to A Levels. For more information on UCAS Tariff points and equivalence, check out the UCAS Tariff Point Calculator.
