Have your say

As a student at Blackpool and The Fylde College, you automatically become a member of the Students’ Union. The Union works for the good of the student community and welcomes your involvement and comments. So if there’s something you’re not happy about, let them know. Many aspects of the student experience have been changed for the better in this way.

Childcare

If you have children and need information about accessing local childcare places, please contact the Family Information Service on 0800 092 2332 (for Blackpool) or 0800 195 0137 (for Lancashire). In some cases, we can even help with childcare costs.

Caring Support and Guidance

Our staff really do care about you and will do everything they can to help you succeed. As a student you will have your own named personal tutor, who will keep track of your progress and help identify any areas that might be holding you back.

Learning Support

Need help with learning or personal care? The College has a team of experienced and friendly staff, dedicated to supporting students with disabilities (including specific learning difficulties and mental health issues). Equality and Diversity for life

At Blackpool and The Fylde College we are committed to equality and diversity in all our activities for everyone who learns and works here. We respect and value difference in race and ethnic origin, gender, disability, mental health, sexual orientation, age, religion and belief, additional learning, economic and social background. An understanding of equality and diversity is absolutely essential if you want to be successful in your personal and professional lives. An important part of everyday learning therefore will be preparing to live and work in a multicultural community and successfully interact with people from equally diverse backgrounds.

To Parents and Guardians

At Blackpool and The Fylde, we really do care about our students and do everything we can to help them succeed. We value homebased support and provide parents/guardians with quality information and regular opportunities to talk to us about any issues or concerns. In the meantime, some things we think you’ll be glad to know are that every learner gets a personal tutor, additional support is available for those who need it and, depending on your circumstances, you could get help with purchasing special equipment or clothing. Should you need to get in touch with us for any reason, please call us on Tel. 01253 352352 or email us at info@blackpool.ac.uk

Enrich Your Life

Our enrichment programme features lots of exciting trips, clubs and activities that let you try new things, meet new friends and grow as a person. Some will be related to your area of learning; others won’t. But they should all present you with a challenge, as well as being lots of fun.
