Alumnus Interview

David Nauli - BA (Hons) Photography

david_nauli.jpgEven in Switzerland, where I’m from, the reputation of the photography course in Blackpool was very convincing to me. I was also very keen to go abroad to improve my language skills and experience a different culture.

The tutors and technical staff on the course were very helpful and supportive throughout my three years studying – we always had somebody to help us with whatever issues we had concerning photography. We had the opportunity to use a lot of different equipment too.

The University Centre is relatively small – we weren’t just a number in a big system, which we inevitably would have been studying at a bigger place. Importantly, studying on the course narrowed down the career route to a point where I knew what I wanted to do, where I wanted to go and how to approach it.

Every day brings a different kind of challenge and opportunity to prove yourself when you are a photographer, there’s no such thing as a typical day at work! You need a lot of passion and patience but ultimately it’s all worthwhile!
