The Students' Union is YOUR union. It exists to represent the views, needs, and interests of students on all campuses at the college. The Union has representatives on a number of college committees including the academic board, and the Board of Governors.
All students are automatically members of the Students’ Union. There is no charge. However, you can choose not to be a member of the Union. To opt out of membership you simply write to the Principal stating this is your wish. The Union organises events and entertainment’s throughout the year, and provides recreational facilities for students.
The Union supports and funds a number of clubs and societies. There’s a very active International Students Society and Christian Union. There are plenty of other societies including the Women’s Group, History, Sociology, LGB, Chinese, and Football societies. And if you’re a political activist there’s the Liberal Democrats, the Conservatives, Politics, and the Debating Societies to keep you going. If you don't find a society that interests you, why not set up your own.

The essence of the Students’ Union is that the organization and its structure provide for genuine member involvement at all levels.
The General Meeting is a forum for student to air their views on any issue which has a direct effect on them. All students can attend General Meetings and put forward proposals. Notice will be given of all future meetings by e-mail and college notice boards.
The Executive Committee comprises of elected Officers. This committee has control over day to day SU business and ensures it’s future direction as an organization that is geared towards the needs of the membership. The President is the prime student representative. It is his/her role to encourage the involvement of members and initiatives and also represent students at the highest levels.
Campus committees ensure that all campuses have a representational and social interest in the SU, and organise events and activities that appeal to different students.
The Student Forums provide an opportunity for course representatives to meet at each campus and discuss issues happening in their course and within the college. Each course should elect a representative at the beginning of the year.
Clubs and Societies provide different interests for all students. From politics, to sports, to environment, there are clubs and societies that cater for a variety of student interests.
