Students from all over the world have been welcomed at Fleetwood for many years. Our competitive pricing and congenial environment have appealed to seafarers from many backgrounds. Once students have booked on a programme we will help with visa applications and other documentary procedures.
Weekly tutorials for each group offer the opportunity to discuss academic or problems of a personal matter. A team of professionals in the Student Services Unit is on stand-by to offer help, guidance and counselling whenever it is needed. Subject topic clinics are also included in the timetable schedule and give the opportunity to cover academic ground a second time.

Newcastle-based Paul chose the College for its location but now agrees it was the best decision all round. Mike, from Lytham, took a break from his Liverpool-based law career to do this course.
As part of their course, both Paul and Mike have recently spent a year at sea, travelling to a number of international destinations.
Paul says: “The campus here is great and the staff are really approachable. Many of us spent our first year in the hall of residence and although it sounds corny we really were like one big family. The College offers great support to students living away from home for the first time.”
Mike says: “This is definitely the best place to do this degree because all the tutors have been to sea and most have Master Mariner licences. Many university lecturers have never set foot on a ship!”
They both agree that Blackpool itself is a great place to study, saying: “Blackpool is like New York, everyone has to visit it once, so why not study here?”
Paul now intends to spend more time at sea before pursuing a land-based industry. Mike went on to successfully complete his degree and is now a lecturer at the Fleetwood Nautical Campus.
