In the next few years the global demand for Maritime personnel will increase dramatically. At home, the industry has seen a growing number of ships being registered under the British Flag; further afield, an increase in world trade from the Far East, particularly China and Singapore, has led to larger and more sophisticated ships being built. The rise in oil production too is having an effect, with the result that there are larger tanker fleets now in operation.

These worldwide trends have already started to impact upon the employment opportunities available in the Maritime Industry. This year we have 1,200 sponsored vacancies (more than ever before) for young people wanting to train for a merchant navy career. This is an industry where you’re never going to be short of work.
