Fleetwood Test House (FTH) is made up of the two organisations, Fleetwood Testing Laboratory (FTL) and Fleetwood Notified Body (FNB) and can undertake testing and certification to the CE Standards for Lifejackets, Immersion suits and Diving Suits intended for sale within the EU and throughout the world.

FTH can undertake the full certification process (materials testing is sub-contracted to other UKAS laboratories), for the following Standards:-

• BS EN / ISO 12402 Parts 1~10 Personal Floatation Devices
• BS EN 1095 Deck Safety Harness & Safety Lines
• BS EN 15027 Parts 1 & 2 Immersion Suits
• BS EN 14225 Parts 1 & 2 Diving Suits (Wet & Dry)
• BS EN 13138 Parts 1 & 2 Buoyant Aids for Swimming Instruction

In addition to this FTH can carry out part testing to the above standards and issue a supplementary report for existing PPE.

SOLAS testing can be undertaken by FTL and a report will be submitted to the clients chosen Notified Body, who then issue a certificate of conformity for the product. FTL has in the past undertaken SOLAS testing on Inherent and Inflatable Lifejackets, Lifebuoys, Abandonment Suits, Anti-Exposure Suits, Thermal Protective Aids and Liferafts.

FTL undertake testing to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) specifications. This testing is carried out and a report provided to the CAA who then issue the required documentation to allow the equipment to be supplied to civil airlines.

FTL also undertake research, development and compatibility testing for clients as required. A report of the findings will be issued to the client on completion of this work.

FTL is accredited by The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to the ISO 17025 standard and all equipment is state of the art and kept in calibration where necessary.

FNB is also accredited by UKAS to the ISO 45000 series of standards.

In order to maintain its position as a leading Test House FTL is currently in the process of expanding its scope to include BS ISO 9650 Small Craft – Inflatable Liferafts Parts 1 & 2.
