A new Induction programme was launched in August 2010. The new compulsory programme consists of a 1 day session 'Welcome College' (Held on Tuesdays) for all staff along with an additional 2 day programme - 'Teaching Essentials' (Held on Wednesdays and Thursdays) for all academic staff. Corporate staff also attend an additional half day training session covering equality and diversity, customer care and continuous professional development (CPD).

All new staff are required to attend the induction prior to commencement of employment. Pre-employment checks are also required for all staff prior to any work being undertaken - checks include enhanced CRB disclosure, satisfactory medical clearance and reference checks along with qualification confirmation and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
