Course Overview

 The course duration is at least 12 months.

The learner has to undertake 56 credits , made up as follows:

NVQ Diploma in Marketing (NVQ) – 37 credits of which 13 credits are mandatory, these units are:

  • Analyse competitor activity
  • Contribute to the development of a marketing plan
  • Evaluate and improve own performance in a business environment
  • Work with other people in a business Environment

There are many optional units that meet your individual circumstances, they may include:

  • Conduct market research
  • Evaluate market research data
  • Design marketing promotions
  • Implement a marketing plan
  • Develop an advertising campaign
  • Use digital technology for marketing purposes
  • Plan, allocate and monitor work of a team
  • Contribute to running a project

 Certificate in Principles of Marketing – 19 credits, of which 13 credits are mandatory. These units include:

  •  Principles of Marketing and Evaluation
  • Understanding Legal, Regulatory and Ethical Requirements in Sales or Marketing
  • Principles of Personal Responsibilities and How to Develop and Evaluate own Performance at work

Optional units include:

  • Principles of Digital Marketing and Research
  • Principles of Market Research
  • Understanding the Relationship between Sales and Marketing

Course Entry Requirements

 Most learners progressing into the Advanced Apprenticeship in Marketing have some prior experience in a marketing or market research job role, although this is not a formal requirement.

Learners who do not have any prior experience in marketing or market research job role may be better suited to the Intermediate Apprenticeship in Marketing, although all individuals should be judged on their own merits, experiences and capabilities.
