Course Overview

The Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning Support has been designed in consultation with employers across the region, to provide a stimulating and challenging employment-focused learning experience. You will develop a range of analytical approaches in the care of children and young people to equip you for a variety of work based situations; you will also be encouraged to develop a deeper understanding of the issues affecting children's education. Emphasis is placed on the development of independent students with advanced professional and transferable skills, particularly those involving leadership and management. 

Course Entry Requirements

200 UCAS points or a Level 3 qualification.

You will be required to be employed (paid/voluntary) within an educational setting for a minimum of 1 day per week whilst on the course.

You will be required to supply a letter of support from employer (paid/voluntary) at enrolment.

2017 Entry Requirements

A new UCAS Tariff will be used for courses starting from September 2017, the new entry requirements are as follows;

A minimum of 48 UCAS points (previously 120) or equivalent.

You will also be required to be employed (paid/voluntary) in the teaching and learning sector within 30 days of the start of the course and thereafter for a minimum of 256 hours per year (average 8 hours per week over 32 weeks). You will be required to supply a letter of support from your employer at enrolment.

Applicants who are able to demonstrate relevant work/life skills or knowledge will also be considered on an individual basis.
